Yesterday I swung by the Evolve Electric Motorcycles showroom with Jessica and Christina. I had  an awesome time with these ladies chit-chatting and talking about the trials and tribulations of life.

I realized sometimes, I feel the need to take a break from the fashion universe... not that I don't love it immensely, but it's refreshing to do unrelated activities that allow the brain to unwind.

We got to test drive the bikes and it was so much fun! To be completely honest I was a nervous wreck haha, I only rode it for 2 blocks. In my defense on my way back I did a lot better. It's like riding a regular bicycle almost , it's easy and you just have to get used to the balance.

Evolve Motorcycles are 100% electric which means no gas and no oil. They're very convenient, all you need to charge the bike is an outlet and you're good to go. A single charge can take you through all the 5 boroughs in NYC.

My father used to own a few motorcycles and I always admired them. They're beautiful and offer a certain sense of liberation I can't really put into words. I'd love to be riding one of these all around town during Spring/Summer. Might be something to look forward to.

What do you think about electric motorcycles? I'm pretty much for anything Eco-friendly and safe.

I call it the bang braid. It's cute, simple and most importantly incredibly easy and fast to do. I received awesome feedback from a lot of you on my Instagram and Facebook so I decided to make a quick video showing you how I do it. Enjoy and be cool, Subscribe to NubTube HERE.

"As if" guys! Doesn't pink plaid make you think of Clueless? I don't think Cher wore pink plaid in the movie, though I do remember a fabulous yellow plaid number. However, I did not take the "Clueless" route what-so-ever to style this outfit. My preppy moments come few and far between. Instead, I went with my more popular nitty gritty New York City style and gave this look an edgier, urban flare.

Wearing: Old Navy denim jacket, Traffic combat boots, Misc top, Street vendor Sunglasses

I'm a big statement girl. I like bright colors, bold pieces, things that are BIG in general. It was still warm enough that I was able to walk around like this for a few hours. I can't wait to see how my style is going to evolve this winter. I'm not excited for the weather but ALWAYS excited for a wardrobe change.

On another random note. Check out my giveaway over HERE for a nice Prada fragrance! It'll be over soon. I actually purchased a new Marc Jacobs one yesterday, So good! I'm going to have a new giveaway up soon having to do with charity and a video tutorial, HOORAY! Make sure to check back in.

Wanted to share a quick outfit post from a few days ago. It's quickly approaching... you know, the final days where you can get away without wearing a coat. It's getting quite cold here in NYC, brrr. It's nice to be able to go out with this sort of outfit and not feel so.... loaded. I despise feeling like all my layers of clothing are weighing me down but what can you do? It's inevitable.

Wearing: Macys Vest, Sweater Misc, Dolce Vita Shoes, CK stockings, Purse c/o Katherine Kwei , Forever 21 skirt, Gummy Bear Jewelry c/o RomeingPanda.

The only good thing about Winter for me is I plan to be popping faux fur out the woodworks, you wait and see.

How is everyone doing today?

Totally being silly with my webcam a few days ago...

Had a rather interesting weekend. I figured out I'm really into this 2 lined cat eye look I have going on here #random. I'm running out of my Makeup Forever eyeliner... Must get a new bottle soon, it really does last forever.

On another note sweet postcard right? It was a gift from Japan... Woman expression? Whatever.

Lastly on some other cool interesting news... I'm going to have a giveaway up on the blog tomorrow morning so make sure to check back! It will be a fancy gift, I promise. Something I thought would be nice to giveaway for the holidays.

Bambi said HI! She's so gangster. What's up?

Hello there,

Last Saturday I was up bright and early to model for Yumnah Najah Designs. Yumnah is a young, talented designer who does gorgeous hand painted jewelry. She truly has breath taking pieces, and you can tell off the bat the time and hard work that goes into them which is something I have high respect for. Photographer Sterling Batson was a pleasure to work with, he has a divine eye. Yannique Joseph was the stylist on board and makeup was done by House of Diva D Makeup Artistry. Together it was a great team of people.

It was interesting for me... It was a very natural look. I felt like I had no makeup on at all which isn't a bad thing but I felt sort of .... bare. It was beautiful. Very neutral.

Yumnah has decided to keep the photos under wraps for now because she doesn't want to reveal the new collection yet. However, I was provided with these 2 photos to share as a sneak peek. They don't show the jewelry but they can give you a vibe of the shoot. Isn't this vintage dress gorgeous?! Gosh!

Hope you like them. I had tons of fun and I LOVE surrounding myself with creative people and aspiring entrepreneurs. I wouldn't chose to live my life any other way.

Hello there my dears,

As you all may know I post a new project every week over at IFB and I participate in them every so often. This weeks is special... It's about being thankful. Like many of you, I have gone through more than my fair share of situations in life... But that's completely normal. All in all you have to remember everything is just a learning experience and every situation you've learned to survive has only made you a better person and stronger.

The cool thing about this post is that it's also a sneak peek into a more personal Nubia behind the one that you see strutting around on NubiasNonsense.com. Enjoy

I am thankful...

  • I have a family that has supported me through my best and worst
  • My brother is my best friend, and my slawbug Marbear
  • I have 2 beautiful dogs I love deeply, even though they secretly hate me
  • I have a roof over my head and food on my plate
  • I jumped out a plane and didn't die
  • I've loved deeply once, and it was worth it because I was loved back
  • I'm able to walk alone
  • For my friends, the REAL ones
  • I have 5 tattoos that I don't regret
  • That I'm talented (or so I'm told lol) I work hard!
  • I truly believe I have a guardian angel, I put myself in horrible situations sometimes
  • I grew up writing poetry
  • I party hard and live to talk about it
  • Comic books and cartoons and art!
  • I found my beauty within
  • For eyeliner
  • For coffee
  • I'm great at Hurdle Turtle
  • For my closet that has clothes bulging out of it
  • For my health even though it hasn't been the greatest but could surely get worse
  • I have motivation that keeps me going
  • I can rhyme like Dr Suess yo!
  • That my co-workers all love me hahaha
  • I won an award for soccer
  • I've met the strangest people EVER lately... they're pretty dope
  • I grew up on Nas, Wu Tang Clan, Tupac and Biggie #Music
  • I was always passionate about fashion and I haven't lost it yet
  • For concealer, oh dear God thank you!
  • For erasers to fix small imperfections
  • I have a mean volleyball serve
  • I've had the strength to accept things I did not want to, and the power to overcome them
  • That I've recovered from horrible paths I was heading down
  • For being a social butterfly! I'm the sweetest thing
  • For Pizza! God I love it
  • Chocolate
  • Oversized bags
  • I'm brutally honest, take it or leave it
  • I meet dapper gentlemen
  • I have a distinct point of view... I study things before I open my mouth.
  • And much, much MORE.

A special thanks to YOU... you know I was going to do it right? How could I not thank you guys for following me in my NubiasNonsense journey. I'm so thankful to have people all over the world reading my nonsense. Thank you SO, SO much from the bottom of my heart.

Hello Darlings,

Last night I attended a preview for the Katherine Kwei SS 2012 collection. As some of you might know, I am a big fan of Katherine's, I think she is a beautiful person and somehow manages to attribute that uplifting spirit onto her designs.

Katherine Kwei bags are popular for their Chinese "Eternity" knots which pay homage to her heritage. I found it very interesting when I find discovered the knots are handmade and some of them can take up to 4 days to produce! Crazy.

I had a pleasant time gazing at all the bags and mentally creating a shopping list. Is it possible that bags can give of away an aura? I ask because seeing Katherine's line always seems to put me in a good mood. The colors and textures of the bags are beautiful. One thing I've always liked about KK is that you can dress her bags up or down. To me thats very essential because I'm a very laid back sort of gal.

I got to bump into a lot of my lovely blogger friends and we chit chatted, drank wine, ate finger food, we even colored in cats and dogs for a contest haha. It was seriously fun. Sometimes you have to let loose and do random things.

Katherines line can be found in Saks Fith Avenue as well as other luxury boutiques. Celebrities that love these K.K bags are Jennifer Lopez, Fergie, Ashley Olsen, Eva Mendes, Eva Longoria and more. Katherine continues evolving her signature style.

Cool art on the walls in the room where the bags were being displayed.

Did I mention that the ever so talented Lacee Swan was on hand? She drew this sketch of me above. She's very talented. Check out her work!

If you're interested in more of Katherine's designs check out her webstore HERE and Follow her on Twitter HERE.

Thanks and a big shoutout to Smallgirlspr also... They're kind of.... Amazing xo. Great things do come in small packages #Trust.

Greetings and Salutations,

I hope you all had a marvelous weekend. Mine was quite action packed. Work and play makes Nubia a happy girl. Along with FINALLY catching up on my fucking emails (Hallelujah), I caught up with an old friend, had some intense whiskey and absinthe about 5 drinks, Sang Gwen Stefani's "It's my Life" in front of a full bar of strangers (things I wish I would have forgotten), ended up in Brooklyn with my friend Jess having good times and went on a pretty swell date. It all happened SO FAST!

So let's talk a bit about "Queens Inspire Kings"  Curran J designed this shirt and I loved the message so I had to purchase one.

I think amazing people inspire amazing people. I stray away from people that are negative because it took me A LONG TIME to learn how NOT TO BE negative. Things can only get better.

So what's a Queen? A Queen in my eyes is a beautiful, powerful woman. By beautiful, I don't mean physically... I mean you have a beautiful soul. I pride myself on the fact that I try to be helpful and supportive to people I love and care about. There have been times where I kicked myself in the ass for being "too nice" and told myself I would change... But truth is I won't. I'm beautiful, powerful, reckless, stubborn, a bit dangerous, spontaneous, crazy, I AM A QUEEN. Any woman can be a Queen, you just have to believe it.  Believe in yourself.

Naturally, I think there are some great, powerful men out there as well... Let call them KINGS. Kings and Queens belong together. Two people who are strong, inspired, crazy, smart, and beautiful. POW!

Queens Inspire Kings and Kings Inspire Queens.

Wearing: Studio Line booties, Purse c/o Katherine Kwei, Forever 21 skirt, Kings Rule Together shirt, H&M faux fur collar.

On a random note, I also visited the new Uniqlo on 5th ave and 53rd, that place is HUGE.

Excuse my lack of posting this week dear friends,  These have been crazy, odd, and quite transitional times.

Last weekend I attended Lucky Shops with some fellow bloggers and was part of their Red Carpet team. It was an enjoyable experience. Before Lucky Shops started, we were pampered a bit with some appetizers and champagne at Bloom Beauty Lounge.

The Bloom team was so incredibly nice... ALL OF THEM (which I can't say about too many salons). I had a great experience, they were extremely attentive.

Beauty in the making...

I'd like to give a HUGE shout-out to Jackie Tran (Salon Manager) for making this banging braid below happen! Seriously.

What do you think? I got tons of love on Instagram for this one.

Let me explain to you WHY I Love a MothaF@#$ Brony:

I've been out a lot lately. Doing my fair share of meeting people and dating. Sometimes it's pleasant and others... not so much. I think I have a very clear perception of what I look for in people and you can call it bitchy but I won't settle for less. It's strange getting to know people and wondering if they're being genuine or not. I think being authentic to me is KEY.

But let me tell you, Why I love a MothaF@#$ Brony!?

Bronies are men of all ages who have an intense love for My Little Pony. Bronies are SO GENUINE. I think it's amazing! It takes A LOT of balls for some men to come out and state they love something rather.... feminine. I have so much respect for people that just speak their mind and don't care what anyone has to say. Do you know how many Bronies are probably "Hiding in the closet?" just because they love pink and purple ponies? #Seriously.

Wearing: Aldo platforms, Zara leggings, H&M Blazer, Purse c/o Katherine Kwei, Topshop hat, Brony Shirt purchased at comic con

Check out my favorite Brony site HERE. It's very funny if you've ever watched My Little Pony.

Hello friends and loyal out of this world readers...

I went to a few places during the Halloween weekend. I didn't really dress up much this year #wompwomp which for me is VERY rare. I don't know if ComicCon burned me out or if I was simply just too tired of things. But I made a small effort and still had lots of fun.

YELP special event. Whiskey galore (drink responsibly) I don't know how I became such a whiskey girl haha All the way!

Friends Birthday/Halloween Party.

Just incase you didn't know, I was Sandy from Grease here. I know, I know, the most simple costume ever right? Big blonde hair, all black, leather jacket and a cigarette. I just walked around all night going "Tell me About it... STUD" It was a hit though. EPIC.

I've been hanging out on rooftops for like the last month! I swear I don't even do it on purpose. Funny how I always end up on one.

Brooklyn Loft Party

The cow with the lace jumpsuit and the pregnant nun.

=)

Stewie chillen with some brewski's.

Blurry good times.

Don't ask, I won't tell haha #seriously.

My cool Native.

Live rock band always makes for some good dancing.

Did I mention I was wearing Violent Lips Tattoos? If you care to know how they feel or how long they lasted let me know and I'll consider reviewing them.

What did you do Halloween? Trick or Treat? I did both.
