Hey Nubians,

Helmut Newton is such a grand photographer. I never get tired of looking at his photos. They're so vivid, raw, and jam packed with sex.. He can make the simplest of things speak to you... it's truly amazing.

I often like to look through his random photography for inspiration of all sorts. The women in his photography look empowered, tough and beautifully in their essence.

Below are some of my favorites photos I bumped into while browsing through The Red List. I hope they inspire you in some way shape or form.

Hey Nubians,

So we all saw the Oscars last night right, right?

Sometimes I enjoy the red carpet almost as much as I enjoy the award ceremony itself. You get to see beautiful men and women strut around in their outfits looking glamorous. They're also in their zone and their talking, laughing, having a good time etc. it's nice to see people in their natural state instead of all tense and calculated for an interview or something.

Below are my absolute favorites of the night. There were more, but these 3 take the cake for me. From the dress, to the accessories, to the confidence. Everything was perfect!

Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab at the 87th Annual Academy Awards.

Can we please talk about Jennifer Lopez being in her mid 40s and looking like she's no older than 25? Give me all your secrets!!! I think she may be my new idol.

Anyway, she absolutely slayed the red carpet in her Elie Saab gown. Everything looks PERFECT. The color of the dress even complements her skin tone and hair. Her neutral makeup gets an A+. All the tulle and beautiful beading going on in this Elie Saab piece in addition to the sexy V neck that Ms. Lopez always rocks so well leaves us with this mesmerizing image. Girl is glowing!

Emma Stone in Elie Saab at the 87th Annual Academy Awards.

Emma Stone is so pretty and always draws me in with her big-eye magic. Green is a great color for her (even though this is like a lime green?) She looks like a glamourized, sexy version of what I would picture to be Posion Ivy at an award show. The detail on the Elie Saab dress is immaculate in addition to the sexy leg peek-a-boo. Emma Stone is winning folks! She also usually adds a touch of classic Hollywood glam (check out the hair, #Love).

And last but certainly not least...

Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent at the 87th Annual Academy Awards.

Margot Robbie is my girl crush at the moment. She is drop dead gorgeous and won me over in 'The Wolf of Wall Street' starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Her career is on the rise as she's now starring in the film 'Focus' with Will Smith and she's also set to play the crazy, beloved DC Comics 'Harley Quinn' in the 'Suicide Squad' movie. She's moving fast and I'm enjoying her work.

Her look at the Oscars was a bit simple but sexy. As they say, sometimes "Less is More". I was digging her new hairstyle, the whole look gave me Michelle Pfeiffer 'Scarface' vibes. Her necklace and red lips paired nicely with the droopy necked, sheer sleeved gown. Another A+ in my book.

Who was your favorite on the red carpet? What was your most enjoyable part of the show?

Hello Nubians,

Continuing my Monday Muse segment, I'd like to feature one of my favorites... Italian bombshell Sophia Loren.

I absolutely LOVE what Sophia Loren stood for. She embraced everything life through her way. She had humble beginnings, born in the slums of Naples and somehow ended up becoming a sex symbol worldwide and even won an an Oscar in 1960 for her role in Two Women. Genius right?

She's one of those people that had magic in her eyes... I guess you could say she "smized"? (way before you Tyra). I also admire how she always encouraged woman to indulge more in self discovery and love one self everyday.

My Favorite Sophia Loren Quotes

  • There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.
  • You have to enjoy life. Always be surrounded by people that you like, people who have a nice conversation. There are so many positive things to think about.
  • Spaghetti can be eaten most successfully if you inhale it like a vacuum cleaner.
  • I think the quality of sexiness comes from within. It is something that is in you or it isn't and it really doesn't have much to do with breasts or thighs or the pout of your lips.
  • Sex appeal is fifty percent what you've got and fifty percent what people think you've got.
  • A woman's dress should be like a barbed-wire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view.

An absolutely ravishing, accomplished, fearless lady to have as a muse any given day of the week.

Hey Nubians,

Yesterday I was watching the Golden Globes for a bit and I noticed the ever so radiant Meryl Streep. This woman has a shining light around her doesn't she? Always glowing.

Many say she's one of the greatest film actors of all time. I myself have enjoyed all the films I've seen her in and think she's a superb actress, an icon really. However, acting isn't the reason I've chosen her as my muse today.

Some Of My Favorite Things About Meryl Streep.

  • Meryl Streep was suppose to go to Law School but her alarm didn't go off in time. She took it as a sign and instead went to Yale for Drama following her intuitions (who does that? how brave and daring).
  • She is absolutely hilarious! Even though she did most of her comedies early in her career, her humor always shines through interviews and award shows... plus she can take a joke.
  • She's done so many different accent in her movies British, Australian, New Yorker (Bronx), Italian AND I thought they were all good!
  • She played Miranda Priestly (Anna Wintour) in The Devil Wears Prada for God sake! Made me love her so much more at the time, she absolutely conquered that role.
  • She is highly known for good work ethic.
  • Never afraid to open her mouth and say what she has to say.
  • Producer Dino DeLaurentis said she was "too ugly" for the damsel role in King Kong. I believe her called her "a pig" Didn't phase her. (Obviously he had poor vision and personally disgust me for speaking about an ambitious woman in that manner.)
  • Sesame Street named a character after her "Meryl Sheep" (how awesome is that?!)
  • Oh and lets not forget that countless amounts of awards she has. Well deserved. (Academy Award, Tony, Emmy, Golden Globe and More.

These are some of my favorite facts about Meryl Streep. She by definition has everything I admire in a woman. She is effortlessly beautiful, kind, funny, and ambitious. A women who will stop at nothing to be where she knows she belongs.

Hey Nubians,

Today's Monday Life & Style Muse is the great Katey Sagal as Peggy Bundy on Married With Children. See that gorgeous face right there? What a mega babe.

Sure many may know Peggy as a sarcastic woman, who was lazy and just sat on the couch all day eating Bon-Bons and watching Oprah but how can that be? Have you check that body out? There's no way! How about all the time that must have gone into hair maintenance, she was clearly busy.

She cooked... sometimes (ok barely never) and topped everything off with a nice dressing of cigarette fog.

And she knew the importance of working out. Check out the leopard leotard. She was the queen of leopard to me back in the day, she wore the print all the time.

Here she is cooking again, a nice salad.  (haha)

She always knew how to accessorize nicely.

And even made working at a fast food joint look good. Always making the best out of any situation.

Peggy absolutely knew how to have a good time.

And bond with Al every-so-often.

She knew how to be sexy when it was time. (or when she wanted something)

And knew how to have some attitude when needed. I love a woman who can stand up for herself.

So many amazing characteristics live inside of Peggy Bundy. I mean, look at that face. So angelic. Plus she knew how to dress. Leggings, heels, tops with patterns or funky colors and a nice belt to cinch that waist. What a FOX.

Here's a little quick collage I made of a bit of a more modern day Peggy Bundy. The basics are still there, cheers!
