Hello Nubians,

You would think Marvel Comics and Fashion is a great mix, right?

I love Marvel Comics, and I love the super models featured in GARAGE Magazine talking about their favorite super heroes but I do not like the way this editorial was put together.

For New York Fashion Week, Garage Magazine collaborated with Marvel to bring a Heroic experience to the world of fashion. I read that GARAGE was suppose to transform these models into Marvel's most powerful women and I do not pick up that vibe at all. Maybe I'm taking this a tad bit personal because of my love for Marvel comics and fashion.

Most of you know I'm a bit of a geek girl and I love going to Comic Con and cosplaying and reading comics books (which I need to make more time for!) so I just think this could have been done much, much better. I enjoyed the article way more than the photography. Get a few details about the story HERE.

It says they are "styled as" the super heroes but honestly no characteristics or anything from the heroes translates in these photos for me. I'm not saying that the models had to cosplay at all, but even through the hair, makeup and clothing, they could have represented the characters better... maybe some props or something! How can you mix Marvel and fashion and come up with something so... plain. How do you mix 2 fearless worlds that are oozing with inspiration, color, and life and make it look so ordinary? This could have been something great with these top models but it just wasn't.

The five special edition covers feature Adriana Lima as She-Hulk, Candice Swanepoel as Spider-Gwen, Karlie Kloss as Black Widow, Lexi Boling as Captain Marvel, and Cuba Tornado Scott as Thor. The font is the only thing that reminds me of the comics. Below you can see for yourself.

Styled by GARAGE Fashion Director Charlotte Stockdale, with beauty direction by Pat McGrath.

How is this styled as She-Hulk? Are you kidding? This looks like a regular photo taken on any given day.

Spider Gwen? Just looks like a model in an athletic top to me.

Thor? I mean... the studs I guess. Blah.

Black widow with a mushroom haircut... I see. Honestly she might have done it best though.

Am I suppose to assume Captain Marvel because of the damn star on the jacket? Get real.

Like I said before, the models are all awesome but I ain't digging it. I think no true Marvel fan would care much for this. Honestly, I'm surprised Marvel even let this fly. There are a lot of girls out there like myself who have comics and fashion in their daily lives. We would have loved to see a bit more of imagination in this.

The one thing I did like is that they tried to compare some of the models characteristics to their characters in the article. You can check that out on GARAGE HERE. These ladies are pretty bad ass.

Hopefully someone will do something like this with Marvel again soon and spice it up a bit.

Cheers!

Hello Nubians & Babetrons,

Being the colorful person that I am, I try to stray away from posting too much black and white photography. However, I couldn't resist with this editorial, it's marvelous. It also made me home sick!

Alisa Ahmann has the modeling game on smash. The poses, the stares, the fierceness, EVERYTHING. I've seen various of the editorials she stars in and she's always so damn good. I love how this editorial for Numéro Magazine takes place in Manhattan rooftops. Makes me miss NYC a bit but I'm visiting next month for a while so yay!

Model: Alisa Ahmann
Photographer: Txema Yeste
Stylist: Elizabeth Sulcer
Hair: Tomihiro Kono
Make-up: Tyron Machhausen
Manicure: Tracylee

There are so many qualities in this editorial that I want to incorporate to my Fall/Winter fashion wardrobe. I am dying to get my hands on some good latex items. I am also planning to bring hardcore use of the blazer back. I can't wait to pull out my pleather and faux fur either. It's like I have all these visions floating around in my head.

Absolutely stunning.

What do you guys think of these looks? Kudos to the photography and crew.

Cheers!

Legs For DayZzZzZz.

The Hadid sisters don't play and they're drop dead gorgeous. Bella and Gigi Hadid have landed the Fall 2015 preview cover for V Magazine. Lot's of black, leather, lingerie, latex... they are serving you sex on a platter. There dark lips and choppy 90's hairstyles are giving me Joan Jett vibes, I'm feeling mesmerized by the look the 2 sisters have going on.

Bella and Gigi Hadid pose for Steven Klein.

The shoot was photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Patti Wilson. Look out for the issue of V magazine on stands June 30th.

Hey Nubians,

I think all girls like Chanel right?

Well, at least the thought of Chanel because the French fashion house has always branded itself as such a classic, feminine brand.

To celebrate the arrival of this new fragrance, Chanel's new ‘Chance Eau Vive’ film takes you bowling! I know at first you may be like "WTF? Bowling and Chanel... ehhhhh." However, I FREAKEN LOVE IT. No crappy looking bowling uniforms here! The gorgeous models, Cindy Bruna, Romy Schonberger, Rianne van Rompaey and Sigrid Agren are all wearing beautiful pastel outfits (adore the skirts especially). The ladies also look ever so graceful bowling in the alley, where the bowling ball and pins all happen to be the Chanel 'Chance' perfume bottles of course. The campaign print and video is by Jean-Paul Goude.

The ambiance in the video is super cool too. All pastel colored bottles and outfits and they make it seem like you're bowling in outer space with a black background of what appears to stars... I think I even spotted a shooting star during the video.

I can't speak for the perfume yet because I haven't sampled it... but the promo for 'Chance' is absolutely beautiful and inspiring.

Kudos to Chanel! Barely ever disappoints.

Hey Nubians,

Now that summer weather is basically here give or take a few days I can't wait to start planning trips. Nothing like being on the road, feel the breeze through your hair, being with cool people, and most importantly having fun!

Also, you have to pack some nice road trip appropriate clothing at first. I love to take photos because I enjoy the fact of knowing I'll look back at them one day and smile. Fashion and style has always been a passion of mine and a creative outlet so I love to have great clothing and accessories with me at all time.

I saw this editorial of Marloes Horst for Harpers Bazaar China May 2015 photographed by Riccardo Vimercati and felt immediately inspired. The shoot was styled by Sara Francia. Hair by Nicolas Eldin. Make-up by Munemi Imai.

I love the kind of retro 70s vibe of this editorial. This captures more of a place in your road trip where you make a stop somewhere and just snap away on your camera... It's totally something I would do at least ha. I like little things, remembering what you were wearing, remembering the patterns on the sheets of the bed or how your room was made up... It's pretty cool to analyze things this way for me.

Needless to say the clothing in the shoot is beautiful. So many prints and patterns. The photo above reminds me of something out of the movie Almost Famous with Kate Hudson. It's all a cross of Ethereal x Sexy.

Bathroom selfie, ha.

Now off I go to plan the future... Do you have any fun road trips planned?
