Hey Nubians,

Always remember you can draw inspiration from anywhere! In this outfit of that day look, you'll see little hints of Egypt and the fierce Cleopatra.

In this little black dress look, the golden triangles on my belt from Zara remind me of ancient Egyptian patterns. The gla.MAR.ous chain headband reminds me of something Cleopatra may have worn herself, royal and beautiful.

Random touches of gold throughout the outfit where also something I focused on.

Toques de oro en el conjunto.

A little leopard never hurt nobody right?

Profile shot. Wavy hair and a touch of little braids. Simple and pretty hair for the Summer season.

Perfil.

Hey Nubians,

Oh Glorious Monday!

I adore this cute and flirty outfit I put together. I often don't understand why people are so afraid to mix prints in their looks. I think it worked out great for me and I do it all the time.

I wanted to do something cute and flirty so the ruffled skirt = perfection. I love the layering of the ruffles and the tulle. My look has a bit of a 1950's pinup flare but with my own personal style mixed in which is colorful and funky.

The Jelly shoes are totally taking it back to the 90s. Such a big trend that has made it's way back.

Below you'll see a nice and crisp detail short of the clothing. If you pay close attention my floral top compliments the floral socks I'm wearing under my shoes. Details are always important my dears.

Wearing: gla.MAR.ous hair wrap, Forever 21 top, Go Jane shoes, Kensie earrings.

You can't actually see it here but my gla.MAR.ous hair wrap has a Cartoon Network Adventure Time print on it! So much fun!

 Hello Nubians,

Who doesn't love their neutrals?! I love wearing neutral colors because I like how they look against my complexion... they give me a glowing look.

I was feeling lacey, beautiful and dainty. I like how the gla.MAR.ous headband and Forever 21 dress really complement each other.

The lip is NYX cosmetics 816 Fuchsia. I used the pencil all over my lip and then went over it with some clear gloss.

Hello Nubians,

Last week I took a trip to New Jersey to get my hair done at my new favorite salon The Pewter Club Barber Spa. I love the 1920's atmosphere in Salon and my stylist Tina is ah-MAZ-ing.

I met up with my friend and gla.MAR.ous designer Mary and she had a beautiful headband waiting for me. To my surprise I learned she called it "Nubia" which left me pretty excited and humbled. I really do love the egyptian vibe of the headband and I'm always down to wear a daring head piece. Things that decorate your hair make life a little more exciting... at least I think so :).

Me dejó bastante emocionada y honrada.

I got the flats above on black friday from Express. I am extremely picky about purchasing flats for some reason but fell in love with these. They were 50% off that day so I only had to pay 20 bucks! what a steal.

Wearing:  Express flats, H&M faux leather jacket, Zara leggings, "Nubia" gla.MAR.ous headband, thrifted polka dot shirt.

Double trouble above.

The view of the Manhattan skyline by the water in Jersey NEVER get old. It makes me feel as if I could stay there day dreaming forever. So much to do yet so little time... I wish my body didn't require so much sleep!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Go shop the Nubia and other awesome head pieces HERE.

Hello Nubians,

I wanted to share the most recent gla.MAR.ous headband collection with you. Below are a few photos from the photoshoot I helped style and assisted with.

gla.MAR.ous headbands have a patented design that won't let you get a headache! YES, it's true. They're adjustable in the back similar to a bra strap. Most of the headbands also have a zipper that will allow you to wear the headband in at least 7 different ways! Fun stuff kiddies.

The inspiration behind the latest photo-shoot was the good ol 1950's pinup style for the most part. To purchase any of these headbands or check out some from prior collections visit shopglamarous.com

These headbands are also ideal for those insanely humid summer days when you have no idea what to do with your hair. Just put your hair up in a cute bun or pony tail and the headband is the ultimate accessory.

Hello my dear Nubians!

Today is Christmas Eve and I couldn't help but thinking about what's next, NEW YEARS!! So much excitement. I was thinking about what I'm going to wear to welcome the New Year and how I'll be styling my hair and doing my makeup It has to look flawless so I don't look majorly drunk. I still have no idea what I'm wearing but when it comes to hair and makeup I came to these conclusions.

Hair and Makeup: Kick it up a Notch! Do something a little bit out of the usual. Welcoming change is good! I would suggest a unique up-do, crazy/insane curls, or jet straight hair.

Makeup: Go loud and sparkly but don't look like a clown. I usually have a "Bold lips, light eyes" policy or "Bold eyes, neutral lips" BUT you can mix them up a bit An example of something a bit fun and New Years worthy is the look below.

The hair is a bit playful, you may even say Chun Li inspired but you can totally dress is up if you wear the right accessories or dress. I'm wearing it with a lovely tear drop gla.MAR.ous headband to glam it up and Sorelli earrings.

When it comes to makeup, I decided RED LIPS. I am obsessed with red lips! When it comes to holidays or special occasions I'm usually sporting them. The color I'm wearing here is by Revlon.

For the eyes, I would usually not do much but since it's for New Years Eve we must glam it up! I did a double cat eye which gives off an egyptian beauty vibe and I used my Lisi Cosmetics silver sparkle eye liner to fill in the gap.

Besides that I did basic stuff: Bronzer, filled in brows a bit etc.

I hope this post helped out a bit and inspired you to play around with your looks. If you have any specific questions about products I used, drop a comment below.

Toodles,

Hello Nubians,

Though my prom days are far behind me, I thought it was important to talk about a prom dress. Last week I was invited to the Prom Girls "Twitter and Tiaras" event at Dylan's Candy Bar. It was like candy and glitter exploded in a room, a rad time indeed.

When I was in high school I almost didn't go to prom at all. I was the rebel child, I'm sure many of you can relate. I had a very fuck this! I don't care attitude about the whole extravaganza. But I did go. I just didn't really care how I looked so much. I picked up a little black strapless dress with a little lace and called it a day... It was a very Audrey Hepburn moment... black dress, pearls, white gloves, POW I'm done. Though I don't regret my look THAT much (I did say it was Audrey Hepburn inspired, Duh!) Sometimes I wish I would have chose a more extravagant sparkly, glittery, all up in your face dress like the pretty ones below.

I wanted to give all my rebellious high school gems something to think about... because these dresses are AWESOME. As much as I loved my Audrey Hepburn inspired look, if I could turn back the hands of time... I MIGHT go with one of these.

Anyway, lets talk about this kick-ass event. There was a DIY station hosted by the ever so talented Grace Atwood and a bunch of bloggers were making hair combs and headbands. All easy and fun pieces you can rock to an event like prom.

(The hair comb I made below.)

The event had candy cocktails! Strawberry Nerd Mojitos? #OMG #delish

That's all I have to say about this for now folks. Perhaps I shall return with some fun prom ideas for my younger readers. Till now, you can check out some pretty dresses over here.

Hello Nubians,

I know I've been pretty much MIA on the blog lately but I had to take a break. Between my crazy work schedules and this horrible NYC weather with Sandy and Nor'easter I have just been terribly uninspired. On that note, I'm not one to come and make a million filler post on my site. I am trying to gather all my positive energy into doing the things I love again so bare with me! it happens to all of us.

On a separate note, TA DA! I dyed my hair again. From a crazy strong/bold red to this dark purple. I would say this color is a mix between purple and brown. It was terribly difficult to take the red out and the color stained my hair, my hair dresser put this color on to cover up what was left of the red. I wasn't too crazy about it at first, but the color has grown on me.

Well that's all for now. Be back soon with some content I've been holding back.

Oh, and if you're wondering, my headband is gla.MAR.ous.
