New York Comic Con Is Almost Here!

As much as I'd love to comic con hop like many people I know, I don't always have the free time. My main jam will always be New York Comic Con. I've been attending since before Reedpop owned them in 2006. It's the Comic Convention I always try to clear up room for. I remember when there weren't that many people in attendance and there was such a special magical feel to it. Nowadays it's very populated and still holds some magic but in a different way.

Halloween might have been yesterday, but that doesn't mean you can't have a little Michael Myers in your life all your round thanks to Mezco Toyz.

This one is for my horror & action figure fans! John Carpenter debuted his film "Halloween" in October 1978. Little did he know that he had created a masterpiece for horror culture many pay homage to in their own films till this day. He also created a die hard (like Michael) fandom of Michael Myers fans. Michael Myers is terrifying. Though I am a fan, if I saw someone seriously approaching me dressed as Michael Myers and not uttering a word, I would probably run for the hills and never look back. Michael was a twisted, mysterious little boy from Haddonfield who killed his older sister and became a crazy, murderous, soul less eyed adult who wore a white mask and was often referred to as "The Shape"... he was also trying to kill the other sister he left behind.

The story of everyday girls like you and I, in a little town who worked as babysitters getting murdered on a mans quest to kill his sister seemed pretty possible which made this story quite scary. Long story short, Michael Myers is a horror icon and the Mezco Toyz 'The One:12 Collective Michael Myers Halloween' figure will mesmerize you. It's truly beautiful in the creepiest way possible. The details will knock you out your socks. His eyes still piercing as ever. The figure also brings great accessories from the film like the ghost sheet & Judith Myers tombstone.

Read the information and enjoy viewing the great photos of the Michael Myers figure in action below. This figure is available for pre-order now and is expected to ship sometime between June - August 2018. Check out the Mezco Toyz website HERE.

Hello Nubians,

We Love To Cosplay...

I love cosplay. I also love going to New York Comic Con to Cosplay myself and to admire other people's looks. Whether it's from Marvel or DC Comics, video games, anime, & much more. I am often smitten by what other put together.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the word 'Cosplay' it's a mix of 2 words 'costume' and 'play'. A lot of people still get confused with the term... I think it's a lot different than a 'costume' for example like the one you wear on Halloween. When I think of wearing a costume I just think about it like something I do with no reasoning behind it. Perhaps I wear a costume on Halloween to look scary, or sexy, or look like a person or object... but that's it... It's all just on the outside. When I think about cosplaying I think about not just looking like a character but being that character. I think about cosplaying as a short escape from reality into a fun stress free place where I get to act like a character I like or admire for some particular reason.

Hello Nubians,

New York Comic Con Was So Much Fun! Here's One Of My Cosplay Stories...

” A new journey to be started. A new promise to be fulfilled. A new page to be written. Go forth unto this waiting world with pen in hand, all you young scribes, the open book awaits. Be creative. Be adventurous. Be original. And above all else, be young. For youth is your greatest weapon, your greatest tool. Use it wisely.”
–Wonder Woman
You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
–Harvey Dent

I'd like to start off by saying congratulations to DC Comics Wonder Woman for being Designated as United Nations Honorary Ambassador for the Empowerment of Women and Girls. That is so HUGE!

Hey Nubians,

Relax. Refresh. Renew.

Hey Nubians,

Trick or Treat? I'm sure most of you ladies are getting comfortable with the Fall season. Looking through your clothing and pulling out all of your light jackets and sweaters, figuring out what trends you want to follow, denim? velour? So many options. I just flew back to Las Vegas from New York and it's already getting pretty chilly out there. Vegas is slowly getting nippy too.

Also let's talk Halloween! I LOVE Halloween. Probably more than Christmas. One of my favorite things to do besides going out to enjoy the fun decorations is staying home and watching retro Halloween cartoons and films. I like watching the friendly films such as Hocus Pocus but then I also like watching the more brutal films like Halloween/Michael Myers & A Nightmare on Elm Street.

I think my style...
