Mary Queen of Scots Official Trailer.

The Focus Features film "Mary Queen of Scots" trailer is officially here and it's everything I could have wanted and more. These cousins who were also friends became rivals and that rivalry later turned to war.  Josie Rourke’s "Mary Queen of Scots" is scripted by Beau Willimon and stars Saoirse Ronan as 'Mary Stuart' and Margot Robbie as 'Elizabeth I'.

I'm not here to give you a history lesson, but the story of Mary and Elizabeth is a twisted and tragic one. Mary Stuart (Ronan) attempts to take her cousin Elizabeth I (Robbie) throne as she believes it rightfully belongs to here. I do believe the tagline on the posters isn't very accurate. Mary Stuart was born and was declared a Queen in less than a month of age while Elizabeth I was declared illegitimate and truly had to fight for her power. Those taglines should be switched. Elizabeth I became a queen with a lot of power due to the fact she fought hard for all of it and did so brilliantly.

I've very much been looking forward to this film. The trailer looks amazing and these actresses look like they have dominates their roles. Hopefully it's not all just trailer hype... I'm pretty sure it's not and it will be a fascinating film.

The wardrobe will surely be divine and I can't wait to see the hair, makeup, architecture, and art! Queen Elizabeth I, introduced a lot of culture and the arts to England and was even friends with the very popular William Shakespeare.

Here’s the official synopsis for Mary, Queen of Scots:

"Mary, Queen of Scots explores the turbulent life of the charismatic Mary Stuart. Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. But Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth 1. Each young Queen beholds her “sister” in fear and fascination. Rivals in power and in love, and female regents in a masculine world, the two must decide how to play the game of marriage versus independence. Determined to rule as much more than a figurehead, Mary asserts her claim to the English throne, threatening Elizabeth’s sovereignty. Betrayal, rebellion, and conspiracies within each court imperil both thrones – and change the course of history."
