Hey Nubians,

Because Short Nails Are Cute Too...

A girl has to keep up with her beauty but as of late, I decided to give the long nails a break for a while. By "long" I mean not mine ha ha! More like acrylic or gel extensions. I used to think that I HAD to have long nails... I don't really know why, I guess it made me feel more lady like. Now-a-days I'm content trying to be a bit more creative with my short nails and trying to think of cute manicures that I can do myself.

Don't get my wrong, every-so-often I really miss long nails and I'm sure I'll go back to them eventually... but for now it's short manicures for me.

I gave myself a cute and simple mani this week. I didn't have much time to get too fancy. I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear 178 All Bright Pink as the base coat and then I used L.A. Colors Art Deco wands to do the little Zebra-ish lines in white and glitter to make it POP more.

I'm happy with the results. I figure as long as your hands are moisturized and your nails are painted nicely then you're good to go. I gave myself a pedicure with the same design too! I love the pink color from Sally Hansen. It's so bold without being neon.

Do you have any favorite nail polish colors for this summer?

Hello Nubians,

My dear friend Jasmin gifted me with some beautiful Lime Crime Makeup lipsticks and a colored eye-liner for my birthday so I thought... since they're soooooo pretty I must review!

The 2 lipsticks 'CentriFuchsia' and Airborne Unicorn' are bold, beautiful, pigmented colors right in time for Spring/Summer!

If you want all the juicy details you can watch my video below (subscribe to NubTube!). I also included 2 photos so you can see the ravishing pigment of these lipsticks and get encouraged to discover the magical world of Lime Crime Makeup.

Above I am wearing the loud and proud Opaque Lipstick 'CentriFuchsia' AKA: The neck breaker.

Above I am wearing the gorgeous 'Airborne Unicorn' purple pastel lip.

***In both of these photos I am wearing the Lime Crime 'Orchid Aceous' eyeliner.***

Hey Nubians,

I love mixing lip colors. A lot of times you love a color but it's too bold and you may not be in the mood to rock something so strong that day.

Below is the result of me mixing NYX Blue Velvet and NYC Parsons Pink lipstick colors. NYX Blue Velvet is very bold and looks almost identical to the color of a smurf (I kid you not). The NYC Parsons Pink is a metallic pink. When you mix them both it lightens the NYX blue to look more like a sky blue and also gives it a metallic finish which is super cute.

Do you have 2 lip colors you enjoy mixing?

Hey Nubians,

A lady always has to make sure her hands look presentable. When I was younger, I didn't care about these kind of things at all. I thought I was "too cool" walking around with my chipped nails.

With age I've realized it's better to have no polish on than chipped polish.

I went to the nail salon this week (treat yo self ladies) and got a nice pink coat of China Glaze Shocking Pink. The color was just yelling out "choose me!" so I did. I love the end result. I often use China Glaze because most of them are also nail hardeners and the lacquer pigment is bold and last long.

What are some of your favorites nail polish colors?

Hello Nubians,

Let's talk about my muse for this outfit, Patrick from Spongebob... isn't he the cutest! I've collaged some photos of him below for your viewing pleasure.

Anyways, I took a ride over to Town Square, Las Vegas the other day just to shop and eat. I Love going there because it's so visually pleasing and there's something for everyone... I find it very relaxing.

My first stop was Whole Foods where I just had to go and pick up my Synergy Kombucha drink. After moving from New York to Vegas these are a lot harder to find. In NY I used to find them easily even at Deli's, but here I have to check out more healthy type stores.

Visuals...

Ha, this shirt makes me laugh because I love the expression on his face. I picked up the shirt at Buffalo Exchange a few weeks back.

I stopped by at Crazy Pita and it was super delicious! I highly recommend you try out their Shrimp Pita... good stuff.

After Crazy Pita I stopped by Mc Faddens for a happy hour drink, cheers! It's a cool bar and it get's super packed and popular on Saturday nights.

Hearts from the dessert.

One of my last stops of the day was watching The Gambler movie starring Mark Wahlberg. I'm a big fan of his but really didn't like the movie much at all sadly... I found it too posey, a bit forced and sort of unrealistic... but that's just me.

Anyway the AMC Theatre in Towns Square is nice. Cool place to watch a flick.

Here's a full shot of the outfit. Jacket from H&M, Nike Airmax sneakers and some comfortable sweats from god knows where lol if you really want to know ask in the comments and I'll find out.

This is my comfortable yet still stylish look. Also I got SO MUCH compliments on my lipstick this day, literally everywhere I went. It's NYX Violet Macaron Lippe. People were saying things along the lines of "OMG I wish I had the courage to wear this color it looks so good". I think you all have the courage... Just have to be gutsy enough to express it.

Lastly it was cold as hell so I ended the day with a good 'ol coffee from The Coffee Bean. They have a mean Hot Chocolate too.

Hello Nubians,

October if among us and so is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I'm always delighted, impressed and intrigued to see the way models, designers, and celebrities raise awareness to such an important cause.

NOW let's cut to the chase, WOWZA Kate Moss. Kate the great (as I like to call her) has always been one of my favorite ladies to admire in this industry. I was happy to see that Stella McCartney created an all pink lingerie set to raise awareness to BCA and chose Kate to Model it. Stella McCartney says

"I wanted to remind women that when they wear this set—the first thing they put on in the morning—to keep on top of their health and visit their doctor regularly,”

The Campaign shows Kate wearing the beautiful set with a very wisely placed Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon to cover her nipple. Obviously, covering the nipple was the smart thing to do so everyone can share it on social media without getting flagged or reporting (cough, cough instagram).

What do you guys think of the photo? I think Kate looks absolutely ravishing... very "all natural" and the photo censorship makes it very "appropriate". It's a total tease and I LOVE that about the photo because it get's people talking and everyone will know it's for Breast Cancer.

If you like the lingerie set or any of its pieces, you can head over to Stella McCartney and purchase it! A percentage of the profits will go towards funding a new mammography suite at the Linda McCartney Centre in Liverpool, England.

Hey Nubians,

For my Lip Color of the Week I decided to review 3 colors from NYC New York Color Expert Last collection with launched Spring 2014 with 20 shades. I have been using Coralista, Snowcone and Smooch. You'll find a lip color for every occasion in this collection and it's an exciting line for Summer.

See the swatches below. To sum things up in a few words, I recommend you try these lipsticks out. They're fun and refreshing. For 1.99 each lipstick, it's definitely worth picking up a few shades.

Watch the video for more details and subscribe to my channel HERE.

Which of these lipstick colors is your favorite?

Hello Nubians,

Tis I, Nubia and I'm back with my second addition to my new Lip Color of the Week segment! The lips are such an important part of your face and it's important to keep them healthy and dress them up every once in a while. This week I sampled Mally Beauty Ultimate Performance Endless Color Liquid Lipstick - Pink Flush.

All you ladies should have a kick ass hot pink color this season. So pucker up and watch my video below as I tell you the pros and cons about this product. Overall I give the liquid lipstick a 3 out of 5 and look forward to giving you pink pouts and keep wearing it.

Hello fellow Nubians,

I hope all of you had an amazing weekend :) Mine was pretty relaxed. Layed low, set goals, pretty damn satisfying actually... I don't have to go out EVERY single weekend after all.

Saturday I didn't sleep at all actually... I was up working and by the time I looked at the clock it was 7 am and I just decided to stay up. I have a Tassimo coffee maker that has become some strange sort of miracle worker for me... The coffee is CRAY. So good and makes me stay up longer than most coffee I usually have.

Anyway, I decided to go to Manhattan and enjoy the chilly weather (at that time the NYC humidity hasn't kicked in yet). I hung out at Bryant Park for a while and starting reminiscing about the NYFW tents and how fun it used to be... Lincoln Center and Milk Studios are obviously amazing venues to hold shows BUT something about the tents was a bit magical... I miss it.

About this outfit... There isn't much to say. I was exhausted. I decided to dress comfortable but still wanted to be my colorful self.

Wearing: Material Girl slacks, Hot Topic sneakers, Vintage Top.
Below you'll see my Starbucks stop, 42st Bryant Park and 42st Times Square.

Toodles,
