Motivated Much?

I have never and probably will never be a morning person. Seriously, It just isn't for me...I've tried and have just discovered at this point in my life that coffee helps. I wake up and probably snooze for 30 minutes... I drag my self to the bathroom and stay in the day dreaming for another 15 minutes haha it's just a big blur to me. One thing I have also found utterly useful is MUSIC. I listen to music on my I pod every morning and some songs, whether it be the beat or the lyrics... They just get you pumped! I guess you can call it my own personal therapy. Below please find some of my motivating music selections... I must warn you, They're all very different.

James Brown: I feel good
This song is amazing for obvious reasons. James Brown is a classic, the beat is motivating, his vocal chords are nuts, he's awesome:

"Whoa-oa-oa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now
I feel good, I knew that I would, now So good, so good, I got you"

Madonna: Ray of Life
Another great song by another classic artist. I always loved the beat of this song... it just sends energy up my veins and the words are very inspirational. Quicker than a RAY OF LIGHT.

"Faster than the speeding light she's flying
Trying to remember where it all began She's got herself a little piece of heaven Waiting for the time when Earth shall be as one"

Aloe Blacc: I need a dollar
This is more of a slow tuned jazz vibed song but it delivers a great message. It's about an individuals struggle to make a dollar. It also happened to be the theme song of How to Make it in America which was a show on HBO about 2 guys struggling in the fashion industry. This song definitely grew on me.

"because I've been working working myself down to the bone
and i swear on grandpas grave I'll be paid when i come home Hey Hey"

U2: It's a beautiful day
This song has beautiful lyrics that's we should constantly keep in mind. We should try to make all our days beautiful. This also has an uplifting beat to it.

"It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like It's a beautiful day Don't let it get away"

Survivor: Eye of the Tiger
This song blew up from the Rocky soundtrack and I honestly think this might be one of the most inspirational songs of all time.

"Risin' up, straight to the top
Have the guts, got the glory Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop Just a man and his will to survive"

Soulja Boy: Turn my Swag on
I'm not the biggest Soulja By fan in the world but I really like this song for some reason. The beat always gets me hype and makes me want to move! The lyrics are simple yet motivating.

"I got a question why they hatin' on me
I got a question why they hatin' on me I ain't did nothing to 'em but count this money And put my team on and now my hold click stunning"

Irene Cara: What a Feeling
This song just screams Flash Dance to me and if you haven't seen the movie you are SERIOUSLY missing out. A movie about a dancer and her struggle and dedication to her art.

"What a feeling, bein's believin'
I can't have it all, now I'm dancin' for my life Take your passion, and make it happen Pictures come alive, you can dance right through your life"

Michael Jackson: They don't really care about us
Lastly, I've always been a fan of this song. I just feel like this is one of those songs with such an intense message. It has a very military marching beat to it. It's very stern and I guess I just always liked it.

"Beat me, hate me
You can never break me Will me, thrill me You can never kill me chew me, sue me Everybody do me Kick me, kike me Don't you black or white me"

I'm going to stop here but I can probably go on for way longer. There is an endless amount of fantastic moving songs. What songs get you up and moving? What do you like to hear in the morning? Let me know!
