Most that have seen the Fall 2009 runway, know over the knee boots were everywhere.
Like these Louis Vuitton here,

Or These pairs of Marc Jacobs.

I really like Zac Posen BUT, Whats going on with these clear boots? I am having very mixed feelings about them. If anyone care to leave their thoughts please do, Maybe it will help clear my own. Hmm

Don't really ask me why, but I made a some what collage of small things I found laying around my room that inspire my daily Fashion. I just randomly started seeing things and relating them to my outfits and yeah, I guess it just sort of happened.

I live in Queens, NY and Every time I want to find myself a cute little accessory or clothing itself, I always end up going downtown in the city. But I wont have to do that anymore!!

I recently discovered actually browsing online a great shop in Astoria by the Name of "Candy Plum". Yesterday March 26 I attended Brick Cafe in Astoria for a Candy Plum event where designers were showing spring lines. I couldn't be happier I attended!

I was very impressed with the merchandise I saw, the friendly people, the great atmosphere, and the down to earth designers. From Clutches, to T-shirts, Dresses, Coasters, Jewelry,Head-wear, The variety was endless.

I think overall as a individual living in queens all my life Its almost like a relief? Seriously It will definitely be one of my regular shopping locations from now on.

I actually purchased 2 little items at the event last night at brick cafe. Due to everything that has been going on with the recession. I saw this cute coin purse and figured I had to buy it, I kept starring at it and couldn't agree with the message more. It couldn't have been more appropriate.

This coin purse by BlueQ is made of 95 percent recycled material and could be found at Candy Plum or BLUEQ.

As I kept strolling through these tables with my complementary glass of white wine, I ran into a table with jewelry and saw these cute heart shaped earring with a movable arrow on them. The earrings said "LOVE ME" and then said yes, no, yes, no all around them and your suppose to spin the arrow. I just thought they were adorable because they kind of reminded me of something you would do when you were younger and had a crush on someone.

These earrings which are "b.e.n by Marija" can be found at Candy Plum or http://www.mpop.etsy.com/

Most of the designers I saw have Etsy accounts. I think if you love creative fashion you can get lost in Etsy for hours!!!

Here are some Etsy accounts from some business cards I was able to scoop up.

starsforsydell.etsy.com
byme.etsy.com
tinyhearts.etsy.com

Also visit http://www.kristeesny.com/

Candy Plum also offers great opportunities for new designers, you can find out more on their website. They are located on 30-98 36th Street Astoria NY 11103
718-721-2299

I look forward to checking out future events. Fashion lovers don't miss out! Stop by.

Rhianna visited her tattoo Artist in L.A BangBang who made this small little gun tattoo on her ribcage.

For someone who went through the unfortunate abuse situation Rhianna went through isn't it kind of ironic to get a small gun out of all possible things? Sounds like a hidden message to me

P.S Looks like she has a cute little top on =)

Today while I was taking the train to work, I exited on 42st and Bryant Park. Many of you who get off at this stop know there's usually a nice Lady giving out the "AM NEW YORK" Newspaper. As I gladly took it to inform myself whats going on with the world today, The first thing I saw when I opened it was this cool ad from UNI QLO that took up the whole page "SPRING COLOR JEANS, NOW $39.90.

This caught my eye so much that I decided to go to the UNI QLO website. I've actually shopped there few times, They have nice basic things and awesome designs if your into T-shirts a lot which I'm not, but its nice to have a few.

While browsing the page I saw "The Designers Invitation Program" you can click here for a description I thought it was interesting.

Scarlett Johansson looked ravishing at the "Moet and Chandon: A Tribute to Cinema" party in London, Gorgeous.

We all know that recently she had dyed her from blonde to a Dark brown/reddish tone. I personally like her better in the blonde but with these red lips she strutted and her beautiful black lace dress. Shes the face of the new Dolce and Gabbana Line and she definitely showed some old Hollywood glam.

I am sure many of you looking to get involved in the Fashion Industry are very excited and Amped, I sure know I was. So excited that maybe you would do something that can affect you in a negative way, innocently without thinking.

I never experienced this personally thankfully, but i have seen it happen to others and its sad and a waste of someones valuable time.

When you go to a job interview whether you come straight out of college or not, working for sales or designs DO NOT SHOW ANYONE YOUR CLIENT LIST OR ANY CADS!! people in the industry know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

This is a dog eat dog industry and unfortunately many individuals running companies are not in looking out for your best interest and I will tell you exactly what will happen.

For someone in sales...
* You will go on a interview and be asked which accounts you can offer the company. A lot of people carry a contact list with numbers and names. What tends to happen is the person interviewing you will step out the room and "show there boss" even though what there really doing is making a copy of the list you worked hard to put together. They will then proceed by saying it was nice meeting you and they will call you but odds are they WON'T.

My suggested solution...
*Carry around a contact sheet with you with the ACCOUNT COMPANIES NAME ONLY. This means no buyers name and no numbers. You have to promise to deliver and if they really want you this will call.

For a Designer....
*This is pretty much the same concept. If you show Cads from a previous job they will make a copy of them and keep them to either
A. knock them off or
B. Have more knowledge of their existing competitors.

My suggested solution..
* Its harder for a designer but I suggest keeping having a portfolio of good pieces but pieces you don't have as much passion for. They need to see your work so you have to show something, but just don't take the risk of it being something you poured your heart into especially not your original pieces.

It's pretty mischievous but it happens believe me. Take care of your work, don't let it be abused.

Over the weekend I was surprised and ended up going to Atlantic City which was fun =). I didn't go out the Taj Mahal so I went to the following places

* The Casbah

* Ego Bar and Lounge

I have to admit I was pretty disappointed at the Casbah. I always heard it was a great party spot, but it was very packed!! I felt like I walked in there and had to give more people then I would've liked an attitude, that definitely not cool in my book! The music was good and they had dancers who probably could have been in better physical shape. It would probably get a 1 1/2 stars out of 5 in my ratings. Boo!
Ego Bar and Lounge on the other hand was very chill. Its located on the actual floor where the casino is unlike that casbah. It had a nice vibe to it and it has a great dance floor where you can have fun and not feel like your going to end up fighting someone by the time the night ends. Its a little small but it is a Bar/Lounge so that's expected. My only complaint is the D.J's did not play all the request they said they would but besides that I was satisfied. Ego Bar would probably get a 3 out of 5 in my ratings.

Most Importantly if you go to A.C have fun! party and try not too lose to much money =)

Check this shirt out its pretty disturbing. Its suppose to depict the "assassination of Ichiro Suzuki". Ichiro had said that he wanted to hand the Korean team a defeat which they would remember for thirty years, They are obviously still very upset over this remark. The image is suppose to symbolize the 1909 assassination of Hirobumi Ito,then Resident-General of Korea by An Jung-geun.

Things will be taken very personal today in the World Baseball Classic. Will Japan or Korea win? I'm going for Japan but its suppose to be a game. No need to be making death shirts about anyone right?

Check out the shirt...

While I was growing up I always liked Comics. I use to watch the Cartoons, Collect Cards and laminate them. I mean I was all into it you know? I use to try to dress up as the characters. I was actually Harley Quinn this Halloween that just past =) but back to the point. I will be making fashion related comic strips.

I have a bunch ideas floating around in My head and its just great and exciting, I'm anxious. I don't plan to have them all superhero related some will just be stories. I will be dropping one strip every week and I'm guessing every story will last about 2 months (8 strips) more or less.

I think Stan Lee was a genius. Must feel great walking around knowing that you have created Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and many more. Just the whole concept of writing these stories were you have endless possibilities and your imagination can run wild is indescribable. Even the super heroines fashion was fantastic. Take a look at Wonder Woman's outfit, doesn't it look like something Lady GaGa would wear today? and you know shes had non-stop talk about her outfits. They were sexy and kicked ass! Here was some of my favorites.

Many high school seniors are about ready to explode with emotions around this time, mainly girls may I add. Happy, nervous, sad, excited, anxious, eager, Etc. I could go on forever. Eager Prom is right around the corner, high school is over and their about to part ways with many friends and loved ones =(

Prom is here!! Girls want to know whats hot and whats not. What can make or break an outfit or a look. For my Prom I remember I was always into the classics. I did a very vintage classy breakfast at Tiffany's 60's look. Hair up, white satin gloves, pearls, cute pumps and i honestly wasn't even that knowledgeable on fashion yet. Here is an old pic.

Ladies now want that red carpet look which is totally understandable. This is an important time for many. Here are some little things that might help your look and that will be in for Prom 09.

Headbands (especially with bows): I'm sure "Gossip Girls" is on Many High Schools girls Monday night schedules. The character Blair Waldorf which is also the Queen bee on the show wears a her signature headbands almost in every episode. Headbands were also spotted a lot of the Spring 09 runways.

Black Nail Polish: I think that if you wear a bright dress a nice coat of black nail polish will give it a sophisticated classy look. It is bold and has been seen a lot on the Red Carpets.

Red Lips: In any evening special occasion red lips never goes out of style. I personally prefer to do it with a black or white dress but it makes your lips pop! Also I would get the rest of my makeup light because you don't want to end up looking like a clown.

Sparkle: Any Accessory, earrings, bracelets, rings, even some light body glitter. This is a special night make sure you glow, literally.

Colorful Stilettos: If you choose you don't want such a loud colorful dress for your special night I would do a nice colorful pair of heels. If you really love the shoes even better! wear all black with a hot color of your favorite shoes and they will get complimented all night.

Those are some of the trends you will be seeing a lot in Prom 09. For some nice dresses and accessories you can visit http://www.macys.com/

Here are some additional pictures for inspiration. I wish you all the best!

Going back to what I had previously mentioned head accessories are going to be big spring 09. Sure you can go to your FOREVER 21's and H&M to pick up basic ones but those might be some of the most common ones you see in the street. Go for something new and different! Below I will mention 2 great accessory lines that that I have shopped from and have gotten complimented on.

*gla.MAR.ous

I own about atleast 6 gla.MAR.ous Zipper Headbands and I love them simply because I feel like there is endless ways you can wear them. These are great also because they are patent pending so you will not find the same design anywhere else.

Here is the new colorway for spring 09 line(These will be available in bow clips as seen below or will be available as a zipper headband). You can order the zipper headbands with or without a bow and can wear them hippie style or like a traditional classic headband. Don't miss out these colors are hot and look even better in person.

I have also read in many places that butterflies and floral will be very strong this Spring. I have ordered from Jammerdesignz on etsy.com before and have gotten many compliments on the Clip I purchased. The good thing about jammerdesignz is that there are all one of a kind and they range in different sizes. Here is one of the clips.
